Asia–USEC spot holds above $3,400 as Panama draft limits ease

Canal bookings for neopanamax slots are back to 32 a day, the first normal reading since March.

NEWARK, N.J. — Asia–US East Coast spot rates held at $3,415 per forty-foot container this week while the West Coast lane fell 8.1%, helped by easing draft restrictions at the Panama Canal.

Neopanamax bookings are back to roughly 32 transits a day, the first normal reading since March. Draft relief is seasonal, and a dry October would reverse it.
