Drayage capacity tightens at Savannah

Two of the port's larger drayage fleets have stopped taking same-week appointments from non-contract shippers.

SAVANNAH, GA. — Two of the larger drayage fleets serving Garden City Terminal have stopped accepting same-week appointments from non-contract shippers, citing driver availability and a chassis pool running below 8%.

Spot drayage quotes out of Savannah have moved about 14% in three weeks. Contract holders are unaffected so far.
